VETERAN & CIVILIAN RESPONSE

OCCUPIED TERRITORIES unearths the threads of war that live in a family long after the war’s end. Central to the piece’s action is the belief that when a soldier returns from war, the invisible aftermath of combat moves into the home and takes up residence in mundane and profound ways. Every person living in that home can carry shards of war, sometimes without even knowing it. The power and heartbreak of combat can live in our soldiers and their families – for generations.

OCCUPIED TERRITORIES is crafted for impact as a full theatrical production or as an intimate staged reading. Our goal is to bring OCCUPIED TERRITORIES to theaters, American Legion Halls, VFW’s, VA centers, and universities across the country.

Everyone in this country should be required to see this piece.

The reality of war is not limited to the battlefield; it inexorably feeds the suffering of combatants’ families at home for years after. Occupied Territories shines a light on this uncharted wilderness.
